Current High School Students/College Acceleration Program (C.A.P.)

The College Acceleration Program (CAP) provides students with the opportunity to take college level courses for credit while enrolled in their current high school classes. Students in this program can begin working on their associate degree while simultaneously completing their high school coursework. Courses are taught by certified high school teachers who have been approved as Burlington County College adjunct faculty. Participating high schools, in cooperation with BCC administration and faculty, determine the courses, taught in the high school, that qualify for this program. To be eligible, a high school student must be approved by his/her guidance counselor or high school principal to enroll in a CAP class offered at their high school. Every public high school in the county is involved in this program and each school has different courses approved by BCC as equal to a BCC course. For further information, students should contact their high school guidance office and/or guidance counselor.

These courses are equal to BCC credit and students receive a BCC transcript for completed courses when they receive a grade of a "C" or higher. Students can then apply to transfer these credits to the college they will be attending. The cost is very reasonable and is determined every year. During the 2013-2014 school year, the cost is $150 for a three or four credit class and $300 for a six or eight credit class.

Attention all 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Students

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test (AKA ASVAB Test) will be offered at PTHS on December 9, 2014, from 7:30-11:30 am in the back of our auditorium.

The ASVAB is for those students interested in entering the military and/or trade school. It is also an excellent tool for those students planning to attend college, but with no idea of a major. It is free and you are not obligated to join the military by taking this test. The ASVAB is an excellent for evaluating your strengths and weaknesses so that it makes easier for a senior in selecting a possible career path. Sign-up sheet is in guidance. See Mr. Palumbo for more details or visit http://official-asvab.com/.
